General Information for Admission 2020-21
Admission Rules and Regulations set by Calcutta University.
Online Application forms for admission to 1st Year Semester- 1 of the three year B. A/ B. Sc/B. Com (Honours and General/Major) Courses for the session 2020-21 will be available online only.

A student may apply for more than one Honours or Major subjects by filling up separate forms. Separate payments are to be made for separate applications.
It is compulsory for the student to enter English marks. As per Calcutta University rules that students must have appeared for an English paper of full marks not less than 100 without which he/she is NOT eligible to apply.

Caste certificate must be issued by District Welfare Officer & Ex-officio Jt. Director BCW (Within Kolkata) Or Sub –divisional officer (Outside Kolkata).
SC/ST/OBC candidates from states outside Bengal are not entitled to seek any reservation benefits. These candidates should apply as General Category candidates, provided they meet the eligibility criteria for the General Category.
Documents necessary for filing up the application forms
A scanned copy of your 10+2 mark sheet.
A scanned copy of your recent Passport size photo.
A scanned copy of your full signature.
A scanned copy of your age proof certificate (Birth Certificate, Admit cards issued by various boards etc.).
A scanned copy of your Caste /PWD certificate, if applicable.
POINTS TO BE KEPT IN MIND WHILE APPLYING:
Quoted below are the relevant portions from Calcutta University CSR on Admission Regulations (Refer to Admission Regulation Criterion on http://www.caluniv.ac Ref No.: DR/55/20L9 Date 06.05.2019
- A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent Examination is eligible to seek admission to the 1st year of the 3 year (six semesters) B.A./B.Sc./B.Mus. (Honours/General) Course of Studies provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100
- No candidate shall be allowed admission after a lapse of more than 5 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination.
- Marks in compulsory Environmental Education/Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks. However, if the subject “Environmental Science” is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, it may be taken into account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks
- A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination [in case of B.Mus. (Hons.) 45% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject Music, in the previous qualifying examination]
i. 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination [in case of B.Mus. (Hons.) 50% marks in the subject Music at the previous qualifying examination.]
iii. 50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied.
Candidates belonging to Reserved Categories taking up Honours Course of Study must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination, as the case may be.
