Kanyashree Prakalpa, launched by the Government of West Bengal on 1st October 2013, is a Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) Scheme that incentivizes the schooling of all teenage girls between the ages of thirteen and eighteen, simultaneously dis-incentivizing child marriage.
The Scheme is goes much beyond financial enablement - its communication strategy not only builds awareness of the scheme, but includes adolescent-friendly approaches like events, competitions and Kanyashree clubs, and the endorsement of strong women figures as role models to promote social and psychological empowerment.
Swami Vivekanada Merit cum Means Scholarship, With a view to assisting the meritorious students belonging to economically backward families in the State of West Bengal to pursue higher studies, the Government of West Bengal introduces this scheme of giving scholarships at different levels of higher studies, at educational institutions based in West Bengal. The Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme has been thoroughly revamped in the year 2016 to cover more number of students as well as to enhance the scholarship amounts significantly.
Aikyashree – West Bengal State Scholarships for Minority Students is a state government initiative of West Bengal implemented from the financial year 2019-20 onwards.
Pre-matric Scholarship (for meritorious students from Class-I to Class-X)
Post-matric Scholarship (for meritorious students from Class-XI to Ph. D), and
Merit-cum-Means Scholarships (for pursuing technical & professional courses).
Oasis Scholarship is a dedicated scholarship portal for West Bengal students. These schemes are administered by the Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal.
First, students have to submit their online application at the OASIS Portal: https://oasis.gov.in/
After online submission, they have to take a printout of the submitted form and sign on the form where it is asked to do.
They have to submit the following documents to the office of Syamaprasad College (Annexed Building) along with a hard copy of the application form:
