In the year 2003 B.Com Accountancy Hons of University of Calcutta had been called off and in the same year [i.e. 2003] University of Calcutta had introduced two specialized Hons. Subjects of B.Com. -1) Accounting & Finance and 2) Marketing. Thus, B.Com Hons. in Marketing had been introduced by University of Calcutta in the year 2003 and in that very year i.e. 2003 the then Principal and GB of Syamaprasad College had decided to start B.Com Marketing Hons. in Syamaprasad College along with Accounting and Finance Hons.
First year i.e. in the year 2003 B.Com Marketing Hons. has started with 9[Nine] students. Gradually, the craze of this Hons. course had increased among the students due to its unique syllabi and its job orientation. Most of the pass out students, right now, are working in the different corporate and some of the pass out students are right now doing their MBAs in renowned B- Schools. The courseware of B.Com Marketing Hons. has been designed in such a manner that each and every students are getting benifitted to have glimpse of ideas regarding the current industry proceedings. Thus the demand of taking B.Com Marketing Hons. gradually increased and University had revised the intake capacity of this course from 50 students to 90 students in the year 2007.
Syamaprasad College had started its placement wings in the year 2005 and from this year onwards most of the B.Com Marketing Hons students have been placed in different corporate. The specialized faculty members [whose name is in the following list] of B.Com Marketing Hons. are very much dedicated and sincere for the up-liftment of the department. They are always trying to give their best for the betterment of the students. Their dedication and skillful presentation helps to increase the craze of the B.Com Marketing Hons.
